After a delay of nearly ten months, HP (Hewlett Packard) has finally announced shipping its iPAQ 900 Series smart phones.
The phones come with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and also feature a QWERTY keyboard, a 2.46-inches display with QVGA plus resolution, and a 3 mega pixels camera for digital imaging with HP-owned Snapfish. The smart phones support 3G, UMTS/HSDPA, quad-band GPRS, WiFi with VoIP software function, and Bluetooth. They offer better GPS navigation with A-GPS chips. Hands-free operation and device commands option are made possible with built-in Cyberon Voice Commander and Voice Reply functions.
With the iPAQ series, HP has entered the market for smart phones but it has a serious competitor in Apple's newest iPhone 3G that offers faster access to Internet and email besides a host of business features and significantly, support for 3G, WiFi, and EDGE networks
